Clash of Clans Cake

clash of clans cake howtocookthat

I am really pleased with how this Clash of Clans cake came out. The saliva spraying out of his mouth just finishes it off perfectly. Whether you are good enough at Clash of Clans to represent your country or you can’t seem to win many of the battles this cake will be a show stopper at your next party.

To make the clash of clans cake you will need:

3 quantities of my chocolate cake recipe baked in six 8″ round cake tins

Template for cutting the cake and fondant pieces

10in (25.4 centimetres) square cake board
cocoa powder and pink and black petal dust or powdered food colouring for shading

Fondant
*Note: These amounts are the actual amounts used on the cake you will need more of each colour
to make it easier to roll it out and cover the cake.
180g (6.35 ounces) red fondant to cover the board (optional)
445g (15.7 ounces) yellow fondant
24g (0.85 ounces) brown fondant
810g (28.57 ounces) his skin tone fondant
149g (5.26 ounces) gum orangey brown fondant
16g (0.56 ounces) blue fondant for eyes
69g (2.43 ounces) white fondant
30g (1.06 ounces) black fondant

Cookies and cream frosting.
900millilitres (30.43 fluid ounces) cream (35% fat)
6 tsp vanilla
7 1/2 cups or 945g (33.33 ounces) icing sugar
140g (4.94 ounces) cookies of your choice, crushed

Put the cream into a bowl and whip it on high. Keep whipping the cream until it splits into the watery part and the fat. Strain off the liquid. Then return it to the mixer and mix some more to release any more liquid and strain that off too. Repeat until there is no more liquid. Add the vanilla and icing sugar and whip until you have a thick smooth creamy frosting. Place two thirds of it into a bowl and mix through crushed cookies of your choice.

White Chocolate Ganache Frosting
750g (26.46 ounces) white chocolate
250millilitres (8.45 fluid ounces) cream (35% fat)
Heat the cream then pour it over the chocolate. Stir until smooth. Allow to cool over night at room temperature. Whip with the reserved 1/3 of the vanilla buttercream from above.

For this eyes roll a ball of white fondant and shape it to the size shown on the template so it is rounded and you can see the black line around it.

Roll out some light blue fondant and cut out two circles in the size you can see on the template. Add them to the eye. Using a little water to make them stick. Then add the black pupil again using the template to get the size right. Usually the iris and pupil would be the same size but by having them different makes him appear cartoony and putting them cross eyed make him look a bit crazy.

Next take some blue gel food colour and paint some around the edge of the iris coming in towards the middle. Then add a tiny bit of white to bring the eye to life.

For the saliva melt some isomalt in a saucepan and drizzle it onto some non-stick baking paper. Once it is dry, position in the mouth.

My son’s birthday is this coming Saturday, and he really wants the Clash of Clan cake and I’m so excited when I saw your video.. Do you think I should start now to make all the ingredirnts for Saturday? And that size of cake, how many kids can able to eat that kind of cake?

    • Hi Benny, The number of serves you get will depend on how you cut it but it should be easily 30 serves. You could start making the cake a 2 days prior so it is fully assembled the day prior. Fondant pieces that don’t need to be moulded to the cake surface (eg. the teeth) could be made well before and allowed to dry.

    Hi Anne,

Great Video, as always! I’d suggest to make the character someone from Houston, Texas! 🙂

Hi Ann, a suggestion for your husband’s potential stranger… (tho it’s not going to get many if any more ‘votes’ because not many people know about this place) Maybe he/she could be a “Saint” like me… I’m from a little island called St. Helena, which is located almost 1/2 way between Brazil and Africa, and my fellow St Helenians are generally known as Saints…
    Absolutely love your posts

  6. oh my God!!!!!!!!!! plz!!!!!!!!!!!!!! make something easier that we can make it too!!!

i loved this cake decoration so I had to buy your template. I will try to make it for my sons 24th birthday – I know he is not a child anymore but to me he will always be and I know this cake will make him happy.
I made your Minion cake for my son’s girlfriend’s birthday and it was a great success. Thanks for all your videos. I am also planning to make a Louis Vuitton bag cake – I love it.
Also my suggestion for your husband’s novel would be a person from Bosnia – a little country in Balkan.
    Thanks and cheers,
    Nermina

    • Hi Nermina, That is great to hear. We love your Minion too. He looks ready to cause trouble!

  10. Another amazing cake Ann! I can’t wait to make this barbarian in some smoky reds & silver for a “300” Cake!
I think the character for your husband’s book should be Canadian!
Thank you for making so many cakes suitable for men/boys. Most cake tutorials are florals and feminine looking, not many masculine cakes. I love your videos!!

  11. You’ve really outdone yourself this time. I watched in total amazement through the whole thing. What next the Mona Lisa? Maybe if a show comes along you can make a large size ginger bread house that you can walk into with some cake furniture in it. I know it sounds like allot but for you, I think it would be possible. Step it up to something that will amaze the world on a grand scale. I know you are capable. You are the chosen one.

    • haha sounds like fun but to make a huge gingerbread house would require a commercial kitchen, my oven is just normal size 😀

        Hi Ann,
What a wonderful cake ! I am a huge fan and look forward to you cakes and videos each week.
Oh, and by the way ( Nova Scotia Eastern Canada ) is where the other character in your husband’s book should be from lol
        Perhaps even a woman ?
Please keep the videos coming I love them !
Your biggest Canadian Fan ( well at least your biggest Eastern Canadian Fan ! )
        Cheers,
        Sylvia MacDonald

  12. Make the guy from Texas… not quite a country, but almost haha.

    • Hi Luke, thanks I’ve added it to the tally for USA

    Hey Ann,
I was wondering if you could try a recipe for fruit pastels. You were saying that your husband was writing a novel. That is really cool. Here is as suggestion for where the stranger could be from: Iceland!! BTW, what is caster sugar and where could you find it? 🙂

    • Hi Sophie caster sugar is like normal white sugar but the crystals are slightly smaller so it dissolves quicker in cooking. In some places it is called superfine sugar. If you can’t find it you can substitute for white sugar. And I’ll add you Iceland vote to the tally

Amazing as usual. Do you ever make your own fondant? Good luck to your husband on his book. Looking forward to next Friday.

    • Hi Shirley yes I have done before but I find the commercial additives make it more pliable and easy to work with. And quicker to just pick up and get decorating.

  19. Hi Ann, this is absolutely fantastic *clap clap* as a sahm from melbourne I hope next year you can do some demos at the cake and bake expo.

    • Hi Lucy, top secret – I’m doing a meet and greet in Melbourne very soon make sure you watch next weeks video for details 😀
