Clever or Never Kitchen Gadget Review

Let’s face it there are so many kitchen gadgets you could buy but only a limited space in your kitchen.
Watch us test them so you can decide if they are clever or if you’d never use them.

Featured in this weeks video (I’ve added links for the ones that I could find online):

The cheap spiralizer

The expensive KitchenAid Spiralizer Attachment
(you’ll need a mixer to go with that)

Stella Fruit Dessert Maker There are so many versions of this frozen dessert maker, hopefully some of the others are better than this one was.

Carrot Shredder

Duck oven Mit

Iphone Fan

Rice Cube

Rice Ball

Rice Teddy

The Pro-Froster

Let me know in the comments which ones you thought were clever or never.

Hi Ann, I think you and Dave should definitely make Japan Crate Videos.
I hope Dave will support my idea ahahah
    Bye!

Videos with Dave are my favourites, especially the gadget ones. Uhh, Dave was it cold during filming? Take off your jacket and stay a while. LOL
    1) The $22 one is fine, unless you’re doing a lot I guess.
    2) Clearly a waste of money.
    3) As mentioned by others, that Singapore sharpener would be good for making vegetable noodles — maybe you have something in the box of mixer attachments that would do the same thing? Or a mandoline?
    4) All good, the bear and cube are especially good.
    5) I’d rather practice and get good with a scraper.

I have that carrot sharpener thing and it’s really good with zucchini. You can use the resulting noodle-shaped zucchini in place of pasta and it’s a lot juicier than regular pasta and absorbs the sauce really well. I’ve had it with bolognese before and it was really good. Unfortunately, the zucchini pasta has far fewer calories than regular pasta so it’s not as filling as anormal pasta meal would be, but I really liked the flavour of it.

I’ve used the carrot sharpener with carrots too, but it’s really better with zucchini because the zucchini isn’t as hard, so it’s easier to turn it and the zucchini gives you more of a noodle-shape whereas the carrots just end up being kinda grated (and you could use a regular grater to better effect).

    • Thanks Shoal for the tip.

I liked the cheap spiralizer, the teddy bear rice designer, and the icing leveler. It was interesting to watch. When I was a child we had a cherry pitter. It was a lot like the apple spiralizer.

the rice cube is also a good way to make fondant blocks. Love these gadgets
The Pro Froster is good if your frosting is softer
