Dessert Tubes

dessert tubes how to cook that

This is the most fun dessert you’ll ever eat! Be prepared for some hilarious, almost musical, sound effects as your friends and family slurp back on the tubes. Then BOOM! A flavor hit all at once. Unless you’re running a Weight Watchers meeting, guests will definitely want more than one. These would be awesome at a cocktail party or wedding as a great conversation starter.

For this dessert you will need glass tubes, they need to be open at both ends so you can suck up the dessert (if you just use test tubes, your guests will not be able to eat the dessert). The tubes that I bought were 14mm x 1.5mm x 290mm, there are similar ones but a bit shorter here or there are heaps more sizes here.

  3. Ann my question is about the comment i placed before about the fat/big straws
i asked that because i checked the licks on the pipes on amazon but none of the pipes ship to Australia and i have no more places to buy the pipes

    Please Reply

  4. Hi Ann, again,
I would like to know if i could use those fat/big straws

    • Hi Wendy, Yes you can but it needs to be something that can cope with a moist filling. A reuseable platic straw with a large diameter will work well.

  5. Hi Ann

Hi. Enjoyed watching your great and amazing video. By the way, may i ask can it be done using a straw instead? Thank you and looking forward to your reply 🙂

    • Hi June, Paper straws are generally too narrow and too weak in structure to work. If you can get a wider guage, plastic straw then that should work. You need to be abe to get the componenets in and out.

      • Hi Ann!
Could I use a silicone straw?

  7. Hi, I just wanted to ask, is this recipe possible with a big straw like the ones you would get at a milk tea place? They are shorter, but they are open at both ends, so I was wondering if they could work in place of the glass tubes.
    Thanks.

  13. Hi Ann
    I had a question
For the kids desert tubes instead of jelly beans what can I use because I don’t like jelly beans

    • Hi Mana, Use any sort of small lolly that is safe for children and fits very comfortably in the tube.

  14. Hi Ann i was wondering what your inspiration is for your cakes and all other stuff?

    • Hi Claudia, Ann gets her inspiration from many different sources. Sometimes her ideas flow from requests or suggestions from subscribers too.

Hi Ann I follow your blog and YouTube Chanel religiously! I was wondering if there is more deconstructed tube desert recipes like the pavlova? Something with chocolate maybe? Thanks!

    • Hi Eugenia, You can experiment with ingredients you like, but a chocolate mousse with chocolate treats and strawberries would be yumm.
