    Hi! Love the cake! My daughter and I will be attempting one for her Blue and Gold banquet for Cub Scouts (Boy Scouts). However, everything has to be 100% edible per the rules. Any idea what to substitute the toothpicks for that is edible and will work? lol Thank you for your time!! <3

      Maybee you can use spagetti instead of toothpicks? I remember in some other videos Ann used them too! Good luck 🍀

    Thanks so much for this ‘how to’ video. Just made this for my 8 year old and she is so happy!

    • May I ask how many hours this took you ?

      I have the party in 48 hours, is this enough time ?

      Thanks a lot !

    Would it be too much if you formatted it like a typical recipe? It would make reading it much easier as well as measuring on the go, which is how I tend to do it. Also maybe include precise measurements of the decorative ingredients that you used for when you made the cake?

    I was wondering which gluten free flour I could use. Did you use a mixture or some specific ones?
    If you used a mix, could you tell me, which of the following ones would be fine:
    1. Schär Mix C (for cakes & cookies) which contains cornstarch, corn flour, rice flour, lentil flour, modified tapioca starch and locust bean gum;
    2. Rewe frei von which contains potato starch, cornstarch, corn flour, rice flour and guar gum;
    3. Bauckhof MehlMix (for cake) which contains cornstarch, rice flour, whole grain millet flour, locust bean gum and wholemeal rice flour;
    4. 3PAULY Helle Backmischung which contains rice flour, pre-gelatinised rice flour, potato starch and corn flour;
    5. Hammermühle Mehl-Mix hell which contains starch (potato, corn), flour (corn, rice), guar gum;
    6. POENSGEN-Classic (for bread and cake) which contains gluten free wheat starch, sweet lupin flour, guar gum, skimmed milk powder, sweet whey powder and dextrose;
    7. Seitz Bio Mehlmischung hell which contains wholemeal rice flour, cornstarch, whole grain millet flour, guar gum and xanthan gum?
    Thanks for taking time.

    THANK YOU for the post and video – we took it as an inspiration to make a similar cake, but added pigs and a lava river. (see pic below) I added you on Patreon as a thank you <3

    • Absolutely amazing Karen, well done! And thanks for the support ?

      • Hello,
        How did you do the lava please?

  15. Hi Ann, the website you put down for the ice cube tray does not work. I was wondering what size the cubes are. I hope you have a good day!

    • Hi Kera, Thanks for letting me know I have updated it, from memory they were 1cm cubes

  16. Hi Ann, I’ve just bought the template and I wanted to ask about the size of the paper when printing – I’m guessing A4? Thanks.

    • Hi Katrina, yes you can use A4 … but ensure that your printer is set to print at 100%. It will then print over several pages that you simply tape together in the correct size for the cake 🙂 Have fun
