Pink Ombre Cake Recipe How To

ombre cake recipe

Inspired by the ombre fashion trend this pink ombre cake is super easy and will delight your friends at your next party. You can just as easily turn it into a blue ombre cake or purple ombre cake but for my liking the rose pink is the way to go.

You will need:
Three 20cm (7.87 inches) round cakes (any flavour you like) baked and completely cooled. If you want to use the perfect sponge cake recipe you will need to make one and a half times the recipe to make three cakes.
Three quantities of simple buttercream recipe
One bottle of liquid food colour (here I used rose pink)
Plate or cake stand to present your cake on.

Make your butter cream in various shades and place it into ziplock bags

    • Yes icing sugar is powdered sugar. Yes you could use just the three or up it to four.

Your recipe was awesome. I only had a thin layer of cake so I did a spin off of yours, I used your lemon buttercream instead and had to improvise a little. Your video tutorial really helped!

    • Looks great Ceilidh

  15. Ur video was awesome! I only have one question,
How big was the cakeform u used and how much did
U used from the cake stuf( eggs sugar etc.)

    Thankyou and keep it up!

  16. Hi I tried making this cake and I used your “basic buttercream frosting for cupcakes” recipe and the frosting turned out to liquidity and wouldn’t hold a shape/form. I used 2 1/2 cups powder sugar, 1/2 cup butter and a tablespoon of milk. What did I do wrong or do you have a different frosting recipe that can hold a good shape?

  17. please can you make a bright pink fondant?or a glow in the dark ?
