{"id":3945,"date":"2013-11-22T18:36:57","date_gmt":"2013-11-22T08:36:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/public_html\/?p=3945"},"modified":"2024-09-23T17:29:22","modified_gmt":"2024-09-23T07:29:22","slug":"christmas-cookies-recipe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/public_html\/christmas-cookies-recipe\/","title":{"rendered":"Easy Christmas Cookies Recipe"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"hrecipe\" align=\"center\">\n<div>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MCba5aFQK38?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The smell of gingerbread wafted through the house.&#8221;Can we put the Christmas tree up mum?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a bit early, but why not&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>You can make this delicious &#8216;Gingerbread Christmas Cookies&#8217; recipe part of your family holiday traditions too, use it to make giant\u00a0<a title=\"Gingerbread House Recipe\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/public_html\/gingerbread-house-pattern-for-up-movie-carls-house\/\">gingerbread houses<\/a>\u00a0or iced cookies. \u00a0They are easy to make and don&#8217;t need electric mixers with a dough hook like some gingerbread dough recipes do.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"fn\"><strong>Christmas Gingerbread Christmas Cookies Recipe:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>makes approx 50 cookies.<br \/>\n<span class=\"ingredient\"><span class=\"amount\">440g (15.52 ounces)<\/span>\u00a0or 2 cups\u00a0<span class=\"name\">butter<\/span><\/span> roughly chopped<br \/>\n430g (15.17 ounces) or 2 cups caster sugar<br \/>\n250g (8.82 ounces) or 1\/2 cup plus 1 Tbsp glucose syrup*<br \/>\n260g (9.17 ounces) or 3\/4 cup plus 1 Tbsp golden syrup*<br \/>\n180g (6.35 ounces) or 3\/4 cup milk<br \/>\n1195g (42.15 ounces) or 7 1\/2 cups plain flour<br \/>\n12g (0.42 ounces) or 2 tsp bicarb soda<br \/>\n20g (0.71 ounces) cinnamon<br \/>\n12g (0.42 ounces) ground cloves<br \/>\n12g (0.42 ounces) ground ginger<\/p>\n<p>*You can swap these for corn syrup and molasses, just make sure you have a total of\u00a0510g (17.99 ounces) of syrups<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cookie icing frosting recipe:<\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"photo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/public_html\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Screen-Shot-2013-11-22-at-12.28.58-PM-550x304.png\" alt=\"icing for sugar cookies recipe\" width=\"550\" height=\"304\" \/><br \/>\n4 Tbsp or 80g (2.82 ounces) powdered egg white (you can swap this for pavlova or meringue packet mix powder)<br \/>\n3 cups or 380g (13.4 ounces) icing sugar (or powdered or confectioners) sugar<br \/>\n80-100millilitres (3.38 fluid ounces) or 5-6 Tbsp water (you will need most of it if using egg white powder less if using meringue powder)<\/p>\n<p>Mix the egg white powder and the icing sugar together and then add the water. Mix using electric beaters on medium speed for around 5 minutes.
