Place make makey into the box and pull the cords and wires through the hole. Cover the whole thing in tape to water proof it.

Remove one corner of the cake and add the box into place. Cover it with buttercream.

Temper some milk chocolate and spread it onto some foil making sure it is slightly bigger than your cake. Once it is starting to set place some paper in the size of the cake over the top and draw a line around it. Measure the position of the wires on your cake and in that location on the chocolate cut out a circle using the back of a piping tip.

Add some baking paper and place a tray over the top to help stop the chocolate from curving up as it sets.

Once it is set remove the foil and add it over the top feeding the wires through the hole.

Rest the white chocolate on top and mark where each of the opening are.

Remove the white chocolate and twist the wires and curve them around to make them shorter, then spread them out so they are not together. Use some tempered chocolate to hold them into place.

Create a channel for the sauce to reach each wire, that way you don’t have wires through the whole cake, just in the corner where your box is so you can easily pull it out before serving. *I used chocolate and twizzlers to make the channels, this worked well to start with but the twizzlers eventually absorbed the moisture from the sauce and went soft allowing the current to go across the channels. I’d suggest either replacing the twizzlers with twix bars or completely covering the twizzlers in chocolate so they can’t go soft.

Add sauce into each section, making sure your sauce goes up to the wire.

Pipe some buttercream chocolate around the top and add your white chocolate piece into place to hide the twirlers (I used buttercream in the video but chocolate is better here.)

Wrap the sides of the cake in red fondant then add a snake of fondant all the way around the base.

Cut out tiny shapes to go in each of the holes, or if there will be lots of kids wanting a go you could just use mini m&m’s

Go to scratch and plug the computer cable into the computer with scratch open and attach the earth wire to tweezers.

Then it’s time to play.

To customize your sounds sign up for a free account on scratch and see the video for a quick tutorial on how to use it.

Make it a great week

<h7 class="updated">Copyright © 2017 Reardon Media Pty Ltd.
