Apparently millions of other people who are much better at shooting than me like it too.  I was inspired to try and make the gravity defying crystals, which turned out to be much harder process than I first envisaged.<\/p>\n<p><strong>There seems to be a lot of articles out there that say the following foods glow under black light:<\/strong><br \/>\npineapple &#8211; nope<br \/>\nhoney &#8211; not at all<br \/>\nenergy drink with riboflavin &#8211; not even a little glow<\/p>\n<p><strong>From my experiments edible things that do actually glow under black light are:<\/strong><br \/>\ntonic water &#8211; glows white<br \/>\nfluorescent food colouring &#8211; glows really well but has a horrid metallic after taste so I never use it in food.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/public_html\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/fortnite-cake-ideas-550x367.jpg\" alt=\"fortnite birthday cake ideas ann reardon\" width=\"550\" height=\"367\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-80864\" data-wp-pid=\"80864\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/fortnite-cake-ideas-550x367.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/fortnite-cake-ideas-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/fortnite-cake-ideas-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/fortnite-cake-ideas-400x267.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>To make your own gravity defying crystals you will need:<\/h4>\n<p>200mL (6.76 fluid ounces) tonic water (check on the ingredients that it contains quinine, that is the magic ingredient that makes it glow).<br \/>\n12 gelatin sheets and extra bowl of water to soak them<br \/>\n4 Tablespoons sugar<br \/>\n200mL (6.76 fluid ounces) water<\/p>\n<p>Open the tonic water and let it go flat (this makes it easier as you won&#8217;t have a heap of bubbles to scrape off the top).<br \/>\nSoak the gelatine sheets in water.  Add the sugar to the 200mL (6.76 fluid ounces) of water and heat in the microwave until the sugar is dissolved.  Squeeze the water out of the gelatine sheets and add into the warm sugar solution.  Stir until the gelatine is melted.  Let cool slightly then stir in the tonic water.<\/p>\n<p>Pour into a rectangular tin lined with plastic wrap and place in the fridge to set.<\/p>\n<p>Make batch of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/public_html\/chocolate-cake-recipe\/\">chocolate cupcakes<\/a>.  Crush up some Oreos in a food processor or if you don&#8217;t have one place them in a ziplock bag and bash them with a rolling pin.  <\/p>\n<p>For the frosting I used my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/public_html\/buttercream-cupcake-frosting-recipes\/\">chocolate buttercream recipe<\/a> warmed up to make it softer and darker. <\/p>\n<p>Slice your crystals as shown in the video above.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/public_html\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/fortnite-crystals-edible-550x367.jpg\" alt=\"fortnite cake gravity defying crystals\" width=\"550\" height=\"367\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-80865\" data-wp-pid=\"80865\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/fortnite-crystals-edible-550x367.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/fortnite-crystals-edible-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/fortnite-crystals-edible-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/fortnite-crystals-edible-400x267.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Make a hole in the top of each cupcake and spread with the warm buttercream.  Dip in the crushed Oreos and then add a crystal to the top of each one.<br \/>\nFlick off the lights and turn on a lamp with a black light globe in it and dadahhh&#8230; they glow.  You can purchase black light globes from most hardware stores.
