This allows room for the nuts underneath<br \/>\n3 threaded metal support rods, 10 nuts to fit<br \/>\nThe centre of shapeable pool noodle (eg:aquabones)<br \/>\nfoil<br \/>\nThick wooden cake board cut to shape shown on the template.<\/p>\n<h4>Cake &#038; Frosting<\/h4>\n<p>Triple quantity <a href=\"https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/public_html\/buttercream-cupcake-frosting-recipes\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Vanilla buttercream<\/a><br \/>\n1 1\/2 x <a href=\"https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/public_html\/chocolate-cake-recipe\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">my rich chocolate cake recipe<\/a> baked in two trays.  My trays are 15in (38.1 centimetres) x 10in (25.4 centimetres)<br \/>\n1kg (2.2 pounds) Modelling chocolate<br \/>\n2 black icing pearls<br \/>\nFood colours in your chosen colours, I used yellow, green, orange and black<br \/>\n200g (7.05 ounces) chocolate to cover the board<br \/>\nA packet of biscuits of your choice for the soil (I used ginger nuts)<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/public_html\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/P1044526-550x413.jpg\" alt=\"dinosaur cake tutorial\" width=\"550\" height=\"413\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-89363\" data-wp-pid=\"89363\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/P1044526-550x413.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/P1044526-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/P1044526-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/P1044526-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.howtocookthat.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/P1044526-1200x900-cropped.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Phase One:<br \/>\nPrint and cut out the template, prepare cake boards, threaded rods and shapeable pool noodle centre<\/p>\n<p>Phase Two:<br \/>\nBake the cakes and let them cool<\/p>\n<p>Phase Three:<br \/>\nMake the frosting<br \/>\nCut out the layers of the cake<br \/>\nStack onto the prepared support<br \/>\nCarve to shape<br \/>\nCover in buttercream, smooth using acetate<br \/>\nUse left over cake and buttercream to make mounds on the cake board for rocks and then place in the fridge.<\/p>\n<p>Phase Four:<br \/>\nBuild up the neck, tail and legs using modelling chocolate.  Put in the fridge to harden.  Cover the body with rolled out modelling chocolate.  Use the back of a spoon to blend the joins of modelling chocolate together.
