In this episode we are looking at more recipes and viral videos that have been sent in to me to see if they would actually work. Also in discussion is the ‘news media bargaining code’, or the fight between google, facebook and the news media in Australia.

Hey Ann! I really like your site and all your videos, but there’s something that bothered me in the most recent one – the video thumbnail has a picture of a watermelon with dirt and a banana/hot pepper in it. However you did not discuss it in the video! You have complained about others doing just that as click bait and you do it too….

I was just wondering about that. I don’t remember that thumbnail when I watched it out in the living room the other day but seeing it now I’m like ‘Wait. What!?’ Maybe it was just part of the discussion of others using thumbnails like that? I don’t remember

    • she explains and shows the results in a later video. That ‘life hack’ took more time because it involved a growing plant, and she wanted to leave it as long as possible to show that she wasn’t doing it wrong. Also, I believe that that video was rather tongue in cheek, and included a clickbaity title and thumbnail to show the viewer how they work. She even talked about content farms using thumbnails which aren’t included in the video.
