Giant Oreo Cheesecake Recipe
This oreo no bake cheesecake tastes so good you have to try it. Decorating it like an oreo is optional but makes it a fun dessert to serve to your guests.
Cookie Dough for details
(this will make more dough than you need so make extra into some cookies).
1 cup or 225g (7.94 ounces) sugar
230g (8.11 ounces) or 1 cup plus 1tbsp butter
1 egg
2 1/2 cups or 375g (13.23 ounces) plain flour
1/2 cup or 55g (1.94 ounces) cocoa powder
70g (2.47 ounces) dark chocolate
Beat together the butter and sugar until smooth. Mix in the egg and then the plain flour. Melt the chocolate and work quickly to mix it into the dough. Knead to form a ball and then roll out onto baking paper. Cut out the letters for OREO using letter shaped cookie or playdoh cutters. Cut two triangles, use a straw to cut some mini circles and then cut lots of strips and chop them into rectangles to go around the edge of the cheesecake. Cut out an oval big enough to fit around your letters and then the other shapes as shown in the video. Bake them in the oven at 180 C (356 degrees Fahrenheit) . They will not take long because they are so thin.
Fudgy Brownie Base and Top Recipe
The cookie part of 6 oreos (reserve filling for next step)
100g (3.53 ounces) or 1/3 cup plus 2 tbsp butter
2 eggs
1 cup or 218g (7.69 ounces) sugar
3/4 cup or 120g (4.23 ounces) self raising flour
1/4 cup or 30g (1.06 ounces) cocoa powder
200g (7.05 ounces) dark chocolate, roughly chopped
Preheat your oven to 180C (356 degrees Fahrenheit). Grease and line two round 18 cm (7.09 inches) cake tins with baking paper. Place the cookie part of the oreos into a plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin until you have fine crumbs. Put the butter into a bowl and melt it in the microwave. Add the eggs and whisk in. Pour in the sugar and mix well. Add the cocoa powder and self raising flour and whisk through until no lumps remain. Stir through the dark chocolate and the crushed oreos until just combined. Split the mixture evenly between the two tins. Bake in the oven for approximately 15 minutes or until a knife inserted into the centre comes out clean.
Oreo Cheesecake Filling Recipe
2 tablespoons gelatine dissolved in 1/3 cup water
750g (26.46 ounces) cream cheese – leave out of the fridge to soften while you make the base
1 cup or 218g (7.69 ounces) sugar
filling from 6 oreos
3/4 cup or 190mL (6.42 fluid ounces) milk
3/4 cup or 190mL (6.42 fluid ounces) cream
Additional 5 oreos chopped roughly
Line the base and sides of a 17 cm (6.69 inches) round container with baking paper. The container should be slightly smaller than the size of the base and top. Sprinkle the gelatin over cold water, stir and leave to stand. Beat cream cheese until smooth, add in the sugar and oreo filling. Pour in the milk and cream and mix well. Slowly heat the softened gelatine in the microwave until it is a smooth liquid (if you overheat it will overflow so do 20secs at a time or use a large bowl).
While the beaters are running pour the gelatin into the mixture.
Roughly chop 5 oreos. Pour some mixture into the container and add some chopped oreos to the centre section, add more mixture and continue this until you have used it all. Try to keep the edges completely white by putting the chopped oreo towards the centre. This recipe will serve approximately 15 people.

do you need to use the gelatin
hi jordan, yes it will not set without it
hi where do you get the gelatin
Hi jordan powdered gelatin is available in the cooking section of the supermarket here.
thanks
hi :3 after i made the cheescake filling for how long it needs to stay in the fridge?
Hi viviana, usually I put it in the freezer overnight, it would need at least 4 hours.
Hi do you you use pieces of Oreo in the cheese cake ps. Please subscribe me
Hi,Ann i just want to ask how did you to do the area were the oreo is named
when mixing the cheesecake it was all smooth until i added the ‘gelatin’ (i used vege-gel which is a vegetarian equivalent) and then it went a bit lumpy, do you think this is a problem or just because i used vege-gel not actual gelatin ? i heated the vege-gel in the same way you would gelatin, and the instructions said you just substitute it into any recipe once it is heated
thanks
Hi zoe, it depends what the vege-gel is made of, the instructions given are for heating the gelatin but if the vege gel is made of something else it may need different instructions, what is the gelling agent in it?
You seem to use a lot of gelatin, in almost all of the videos I’ve watched today. Is it truly a necessary ingredient? I am vegetarian as well, and do not like to use gelatin products.
Any substitutions are greatly appreciated. Thank you so much ~ it’s been a fun day watching all of your videos! I have ideas & will post pictures when I create some of what you’ve helped me learn!
Can i make it a day ahead b4 a party
Hi stella, yes you can, you can make the cheesecake part up to a month ahead and keep it in the freezer
how long do you put in the cream filling in the fridge or freezer for it to set?
hi courtney I usually just put it in overnight, I am sure it doesn’t need that long but as I don’t check it during the night I can’t tell you exactly how long it will take sorry.
Ok what brand of cream cheese is best and the cream what kinda cream are you talking about for the filling part?
Hi stella, I use the blocks of phillidelphia cream cheese and the cream can be heavy cream / thickened cream / pure cream
Hi does it matter what kind of cream cheese i use? And the gelitin is that like jello powder?
Hi stella, the cream cheese should be the block type not the soft spreadable tub variety. Jello powder has gelatin in it plus lots of sugar and flavors, gelatin should be in the baking section of your supermarket.
under the milk it says 3/4 cup or 190ml cream what kind of cream heavy cream or whipped cream?… please respond asap i’m making this on Friday
Hi molly heavy cream / pure cream / pouring cream / thickened cream depending what country you are in it is called different things everywhere.
thanks and today i was making it do you happen to know if that says for cream cheese 750 grams or does it mean 75 oz
750g = 26.4oz
hi Ann,
My daughters don’t like cheese cake very much,so i want to use something else but i’m afraid if i use cream or icing the cake layer on top will completely squash it!
-Leigh-Ann
Hi leigh -Ann try a firm white chocolate mousse instead, I am posting a mousse recipe in a few weeks that will help you
Hi Ann
This recipe looks amazing, looking at making this cake for my daughter’s birthday on Saturday. How far in advance can I make it? Was planning to make the top and base tonight (Wednesday)and cheesecake filling and cookie decorations tomorrow, then assemble on Saturday. Would this be okay or to far in advance ?
Thanks
Hi Shuhana, sorry I don’t think this reply will make it in time to help you, I reply to all questions once a week. You can make the cheesecake filling up to a month ahead and store covered in the freezer. The cookie decorations can be made a few days ahead and stored in an airtight container, the brownie bit should be made the day before or on the day of use.
Can I use normal chocolate instead of dark chocolate for the cookie dough and fudge brownie base?
Yes but it will not look as dark oreo colored.
Hi, what kind of cream do you mean for the cheesecake filling? Is it whipped cream and how manu grams? In holland we dont have the same products as in america! Thanks!
Hi Jessica, I am not sure what cream is called in holland you have there if you could check the nutrition information on you cream you are looking for cream that is around 30% fat. Here in Australia it is called whipping cream, thickened cream or just plain cream.
I am looking for an oreo cheesecake recipe and I think I may try this one. It looks really funny and this is quite different from the common oreo cheesecake we see in stores. The kids would surely adore this one.
My kids loved it : )
It is partly because of my religion, partly because I have all the ingredients except the gelatin, and since im only 12 i cant go and buy it:(
i am vegetarian too i used vege-gel which is a vegetarian equivalent, i am from the uk but i am sure other countries will sell it if you look in the home baking section of your supermarket x
can you substitute the gelatin? If so, with what??
Hi Sum, What is the reason for not using gelatine? If to not have pigs for religious reasons then google search halagel it only uses cows and goat.
Hi, Sum! You could try agar-agar. It’s a vegetarian powder that’s used instead of gelatin.
Unfortunately the agar agar has to be heated to a high temp to melt it and sets at room temp so will be set before you can fold in the whipped cream.
Hi Ann, Im 10 years old girl kids and i love you’re cook i’m in phillipine beacause i am phillipine girl i’m speak tagalog and my birthday
is November 5 🙂
Hello Ann
Love the look of the Oreo cheesecake, and plan on making it. Just wondering how easy it is to cut with the fudgey brownie on the top, whether it squashes the cheesecake portion in the middle?
Kind regards
Lynn
I used a finely cerated knife with a sharp tip and it cut through without squashing the cheesecake. The brownie is quite soft and fudgey so it is not hard.
Love your site.
Can you tell us the size of the cake tins required.
Thanks.
Hi kay the cheesecake container I used was 17 cm diameter
the tin for the oreo part was 18 cm
