Prank Chocolate Truffles

Filming this video was so much fun. Make your own prank chocolate truffles and watch the reactions of your friends as they eat them. With thanks to Draw with Jazza, Jayden Rodrigues and Jamie for being such good sports and eating the whole box.

Chilli V Raspberry Chocolate Truffles

chilli v raspberry sauce
To make raspberry chocolate truffles filling you will need:
135g (4.76 ounces) sugar
1 Tblpn glucose syrup
40ml water
1 Tblspn butter
2 Tblspn cream
200g (7.05 ounces) raspberries

Heat the sugar, glucose syrup and water in a pan until it just starts to brown. Add the butter, cream and raspberries. Stir well to combine then strain through a fine metal sieve to remove the seeds.

Note the chilli truffles only lasted a couple of days. After that the chilli started breaking down the chocolate, the sides of the truffles blistered and then collapsed. What does the chilli do to your insides?

Hi Ann i`m Lillie. I`m turning 11 in June and i`m hosting a sleepover party and i`m really into baking .I wanted to do your prank truffles but I don`t want to be mean so what would you use instead of wasabi hope you are going ok in these hard times lillie PS any other prank truffles

    • It’s hard to understand if you want a better bad option or another good one. For bad, you could fill with mayo that you put green food dye in, or for a good option you could use cream cheese with some sugar, vanilla, and food dye. If you don’t want to use or don’t have food dye, that’s fine the just won’t look like mint. Hope this helps!

I also have another question. You said I should omit the chili. Is there something I can use instead?
    Thank you!!

    • Well, I believe when she said to omit the chili, she meant just don’t make those. But if you want, you could use cheese. That might be a good orange colored option if you still want to do it.

    Hey Ann!
I have been watching all of your videos and I’ve enjoyed and liked all of them. When I watch them I just want to jump up and start to bake. I sometimes lie at bed at night and dream of me in the kitchen making all of your yummy desserts. I have a serious sweet tooth and just watching your video makes them ache. When I first saw this video I loved it. I’m planning to make it for my teacher as an end-of-the-year gift. Do you recommend me to try anything different? Thank you so much, Ann!!
    -Kaitlin

    • Hi Kat, Oh your poor teacher, do make sure she knows that it is like bean-boozled – some are nice some are not – put a whole one in your mouth at once. I would omit the chilli sauce ones only because after they were stored for a few days the chilli started breaking down the chocolate making holes in them. ?

        Thank you so much, Ann!
I never thought you would respond and having you do so is amazing! It’s a huge honor.
Don’t you worry about my teacher. I’ll tell him all about it.
Thank you so much for my advice and keep baking!!

    Hi Ann,
I tried your caramel to use in the caramel chocolates but it came out really brittle like toffee. Is there something I am doing wrong or do you have a different recipe to get a runny or gooey caramel?

    • Hi Natalie, It sounds like you may have taken the caramel too far (cooked it to long).

Hi Ann! Thank you for always posting the most beautiful, funny, and charming videos! I am a long-time fan, and I especially love your chocolate tutorial videos. I have a big favor to ask! One of my favorite chocolates of all time are those liqueur-filled cordials (as they call them here in the USA). They have a liquid center (usually with some kind of alcohol like Grand Marnier), and around the liquid there is a delicate crispy sugar shell. The liquid-filled sugar shell is then dipped in chocolate. They are so delicious and very special! I would love to make them in assorted flavors to give away as gifts for the holidays this year. Would you be willing to help me out by giving them a try and making a tutorial video? Something tells me you could get them just right. I would be forever grateful! These are the instructions I was planning to follow, but I know there are probably more out there. Thank you so very much for all you do, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

    • Thanks Heather for the lovely feedback!

  13. What kind of cream do you use? Is it like heavy cream?

    • Hi Tristian, This link may help: https://www.howtocookthat.net/public_html/cream-use/

        • Is there a difference between glucose syrup and light corn syrup?

          • Hi Tristan, They are basically the same.

        • Hi Tristan, Ann is constantly looking for and dreaming up new ideas. Sometimes the ideas come from suggestions from subscribers too!
