Giant Twix Bar Recipe

giant twix bar recipe by Ann Reardon

Giant Twix bar recipe makes two 1kg (2.2 pounds) twix bars, we gave this one to a wonderful young lady who volunteers some time each month to work with deaf children in Fiji.
Learn how to make the Twix bar and hear more of her story in the video.
Make a box from thick cardboard 37cm (14.57 inches) long x 7cm (2.76 inches) wide x 6cm (2.36 inches) deep
Then using some thin cardboard line the base to make a curved base.
Line the box you’ve made with non-stick baking paper.

Chocolate
600g (21.16 ounces) of chocolate to cover the bars, some of this will be left over but you need this amount to pour over the bars. You can use either compound chocolate, which you can just melt, or real chocolate which you will need to temper. Check the ingredients. If it contains cocoa butter it is real chocolate. There is a post on how to temper chocolate here.

  1. I LOVE IT WHAT A bEUTY SHOUT OUT TO MY BOI LIL MICH

  2. Also I was wondering how long and wide you made the boxes, thanks!

    • Hi Margaret, Make a box from thick cardboard 37cm long x 7cm wide x 6cm deep for each bar.

  3. Hi I wanted to make this for my friend but she can’t have any dairy so I need to use gmo free butter but I’m having trouble finding a substitute for the skim milk powder. Do you have any suggestions?

    • Hi Margaret, You can get powdered soy milk from health food stores. It will change the flavour but as you are already altering the recipe it might be worth a try.

  4. Hi Ann
I want to make this twix bar to my father but we cant find skim milk powder here in sweden

    • Hi Yanina, There are a number of powdered milks available in Sweden and they all produce a skim milk version. If you can’t get a skim milk version, you can use a whole milk version.

  5. that looks very nice too at right now

  6. My 6yo daughter and I watched this video and she is about to explode with excitement after watching this video. She wants to make this so badly! Twix is a family favorite candy bar. We live in Honduras so don’t often get American candy bars. We’ll have to give it a try soon. Thanks!!

    • Hi Elena, Do post a photo when you are done. We would love to see it.

  7. Hii i love this vid and considering to make this for my little sister’s birthday. But im wondering, the recipe you placed here, does that count for both twixes, or only a single bar?
So that for example, you need 500g glucose syrup?

    Thanks again 😀

    • Hi Miranx, The quantities provided will do the two bars as pictured.

  8. Can i find any of these things in america

    • Hi Samantha, You should be able to pick up the ingredients in your local supermarket.

  9. How long does the chocolate keep its freshness? Do you have to eat the chocolate on one day or can you keep it fresh in several days. Please answer quickly. (I am from Norway, so i don’t write english so good. I hope you understand my question.) Thank you <333

    • Hi Maria, it should last for a couple of weeks at least 😀

      • lol

  10. i love your videos !

    • Thanks Riley!

  11. how long did you make the box

  12. Hi!

So with Valentines Day coming up and my girlfriend LOVING Twix…I was wondering if there is any way that I would be able to purchase this? I am an awful baker/cook so making this although it seems decently simple – I would destroy it.

  13. I am really learning a lot from you.Every video is like a chocolate rich and creamy with learning. My kids are very much excited with your work and they always ask me to do it too.cant wait to see the excitement from their face

  14. Greeting for the other side of earth 🙂

I was wondering can you freeze the candy bars???
And can you substitute flour for spelt flour ore do i have to adjust some quantities?

Normal flour makes me extreemly tired and grumpy i found out, but that doesn’t happen with spelt flour. But its hard to find nice recepies.

    Like to hear

    Greeting

  15. Hi Ann,

I really love your channel, my roommate and I watch it all the time, and I was wondering if you were to make another giant candy bar sort of recipe if you could do a giant reeses cup? I don’t know if you take requests but if you do my roommate would be ecstatic (that’s his favorite chocolate). Either way your video’s are great and we will definitely continue to watch and love them!

  16. Hi Ann,
I love your channel. You explain everything very well.
I wanted to make this for my friends birthday because she loves twix.
Unfortunatly I can’t get the skim milk powder in Germany. Is there something that I can use instead? You also say in the video that the biscuits need 20 min but here stands 10min. How long do I have to bake them?
    Thanks:)
P.S.: I made last week the hunger games cake and it didn’t turned out that bad, I just had problems with the sugar flames.
