Step 1: Purchase the app

Step 2: Print out your markers and cut out

Step 3: Open the app and press the button for the animation you want, line up the square directly above the appropriate marker until it locks on. Once it is locked on you can move it around as long as the marker stays on screen.

My turn for a request to challenge you! I have three boys and my youngest wants a Five Night at Freddy’s party! I am trying to figure out how to engineer a “surprise jump scare” cake! I have been researching everything I can think of to help me figure it out and then I thought of Ann. I was hoping to take your Chocolate Pinata Candy Cake Recipe, set it on a layer of cake, and somehow using a compression spring to go off at just the right time, bashing through the top of the candy cake shell…. just not sure how to pull it off! 🙂 I know you get a lot of requests, but if this peeks your creativity, I’d love to hear what you have to say. Hi Angela, That sounds amazing. Ann said you would definitely need some kind of mechanism to create the spring/surprise effect you have in mind. She doesn’t have anything like this on the blog at the moment but suggested you look at a toy or similar that has that kind of mechanism already and see what you could build around it. Let us know if you come up with any great ideas!

I bought the app and only the unicorn one worked. Which is disappointing because I wanted the fireworks one and wanted to use this for my Grandparents 50th anniversary. Oh well, I guess I could use the unicorn.
Hi Brittany, have you printed out all of the markers from the website? Each animation requires a different marker to work. I hope that helps.

I’m having trouble with the markers working with the app. One of the dragon markers work, but the others don’t. Not sure what the cause could be. My sons birthday is today and I’m hoping I can get some assistance. Thank you kindly! Love your website and love your work! You’re inspiring!
Hi Lana, I hope your son had a great birthday. You must have bought the App a while ago. It has had an update since you purchased it to make it easier to use.. It used to have different markers for different coloured dragons. Now there is one marker and you can change the colours on the left of screen. The sword marker is the one to use. If you go to the website you will find new markers you can print out. Hope this helps for the future.

I love your work and enjoy seeing what you bring out each week. I spotted your app for the fireworks over the cake and was quite excited at doing it for my granddaughter. The problem was, after I brought the app, it never downloaded to my tablet. I know I shouldn’t have waited to the last minute but it was disappointing for nothing to happen. I have brought your frosting book before and had no problem so I am not sure what happened. If you have any way of tracking your sales, you will see it never downloaded after I paid for it. I have posted a pix of the cake her mother and I did together. We are pretty proud of it. You inspire me to do better each time I attempt a new project.
I see you haven’t answered my last message and was wondering if you can tell me the problem. I have checked my tablet again and again but the app still hasn’t magically appeared. I also checked my bank account and the money was definitely taken out on the 28th Oct.. It is to late now to use the app as both granddaughters had their birthday in Oct when I tried to download it but as I have paid for it, I will use it sometime in the future, just not on our magnificent castle cake we made. I love your work and have tried a few on your recipes.
That is amazing you did a great job. That cake is amazing you did a great job all the little princesses are so adorable. It’s funny your castle cake looks exactly like my princess telephone I had a few years back. I just now noticed that.
