Giant Twix Bar Recipe
Giant Twix bar recipe makes two 1kg (2.2 pounds) twix bars, we gave this one to a wonderful young lady who volunteers some time each month to work with deaf children in Fiji.
Learn how to make the Twix bar and hear more of her story in the video.
Make a box from thick cardboard 37cm (14.57 inches) long x 7cm (2.76 inches) wide x 6cm (2.36 inches) deep
Then using some thin cardboard line the base to make a curved base.
Line the box you’ve made with non-stick baking paper.
Twix Bar caramel recipe
1 cup or 250ml glucose syrup or light corn syrup
1 cup or 250millilitres (8.45 fluid ounces) cream (35% fat)
1/2 cup or 125millilitres (4.23 fluid ounces) full cream milk (4%)
1 1/2 cups or 324g (11.43 ounces) caster (superfine) sugar
Twix Bar Biscuit Recipe
1 1/2 cups or 330g (11.64 ounces) butter
1 cup or 218g (7.69 ounces) sugar
6 or 90g (3.17 ounces) egg yolks
600g (21.16 ounces) or 3 3/4 cups all purpose (plain) flour
120g (4.23 ounces) or 1 cup of skim milk powder
70millilitres (2.37 fluid ounces) or 1/4 cup plus 1 tsp water
1/4 tsp salt
Bake at 150C (302 degrees Fahrenheit) for 10-20 minutes
Chocolate
600g (21.16 ounces) of chocolate to cover the bars, some of this will be left over but you need this amount to pour over the bars. You can use either compound chocolate, which you can just melt, or real chocolate which you will need to temper. Check the ingredients. If it contains cocoa butter it is real chocolate. There is a post on how to temper chocolate here.

Where can I go purchase a twix large wrapper
Hey Anne! I made this amazing recipe twice, but I am now vegan – could you recommend vegan substitutions? (like, would coconut milk powder work instead of the skim milk powder?)
Can I use salted butter by the way huge fan of yours keep up the good work
Can you or able to use caramel from the store? This is my first time watching you i like your vids thx!!!
I made it for my daughter’s birthday ! It looked great and tasted so as well ! For my next project (on demand) I’m searching for a way to create a giant Melocake. Any ideas how to ? Because I think it won’t be simple to make it without the meringue collapsing …
Hi Ann I love you Chanel can I use skim milk liquid as in Ireland I cant find any powder please reply soon xx
I was wondering if there is sizing for the cardboard box. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
G’day rocco, sizing is in the post above “Make a box from thick cardboard 37cm (14.57 inches) long x 7cm (2.76 inches) wide x 6cm (2.36 inches) deep”
What a great idea and recipe. It tastes just like twix . My daughter loved it thank you for sharing!
Wow, What a great effort Maureen and thanks for the pics!
hi, i can’t find powder milk can i just use liquid milk.
Hi Isabelle, Milk powder is advisable for this recipe. Using full cream milk will make the biscuit mix too wet.
What kind of sugar do you use for the biscuit base please?
Hi is this dark or milk chocolate? Will get the nestle melts.
Milk chocolate ?
i dont have a stand mixer and my hand mixer only came with whisk attachments n dough hooks. can i use the whisk attachment for creaming the butter and sugar and then the egg yolks, skim milk powder and water instead of the paddle attachment?
Hi Anu, I dont know what your attachments are but usually the whisk one will work fine.
Hi Ann, I love all your giant recipes and made the giant Mars for my friends birthday at the start of the year. I want to make this giant Twix for my other friend, but I have come to realise that I can not bake biscuits as I burn them every time, so could I use Arnott’s scotch fingers instead? Thanks 🙂
Hi Kai, Ann hasn’t experimented with this but you could substitute the recipe biscuit for a pre-made alternative. Of course it wouldn’t taste like a twix and may not be as stable, but you could try it.
Hi, do you need to use milk or dark chocolate. And is baking chocolate recommended or regular store bought bars.
Hi Liyana, You can use real or compound chocolate for this recipe.
Hi Ann, I just wanted to point out that the recipe stated above says to bake the cookies at 150 degrees centigrade. This seems really low for a cookie recipe so I was wondering if this was right or not.
I love your channel so much though and me and my sister are always making cool things like this!
Hi Emily, the biscuit is cooked at this temperature because it is quite big and we need it crisp all the way through. It is like you are drying out the biscuit. If you cooked it at a higher temp, you would find it would darken more quickly on the outside but not be properly cooked in the middle.
so I’m making a giant twix for my sisters birthday and i was wondering if i could use loaf pans to make the twix??
I don’t think so because you won’t be able to rip the mold apart to remove the cookies and caramel inside.
I agree!!
Hi Babybear, it is better to use containers that allow you to easily remove the finished bars.
Hi, love this Twix idea and I really want to try making it! But I can’t find skimmed milk powder anywhere, can I use full fat milk powder?
Waiting for your reply, I hope to make this Twix bars really soon.
Hi Nor-way, yes you can.
