A picture tells a thousand words. That’s why emojis are so good. Which one do you use the most? For me it is definitely the smiley face. Have fun making these for your friends.

To make the emoji cheesecakes you will need

(makes 8 cheesecakes, my individual tin size was 3/4 cup or 190mL (6.42 fluid ounces))

Cheesecake base
200g (7.05 ounces) plain sweet biscuits
4 Tbsp or 52g (1.83 ounces) butter

Cheesecake Filling
720g (25.4 ounces) or 2¾ cups cream cheese
2/3 cup or 150g (5.29 ounces) sugar
5 tsp or 15g (0.53 ounces) plain or all purpose flour
2 eggs plus 1 egg yolk
1 tsp vanilla
5 tsp or 25mL (0.85 fluid ounces) cream
yellow food colouring

Emoji Decorations
Emoji Template
non-stick baking paper
compound milk or dark chocolate
compound white chocolate and blue and red oil based food colouring

Preheat your oven to 160C (320 degrees Fahrenheit)

Then to make the base put the biscuits into a bag and crush them with a rolling pin.

Tip that into the melted butter and mix in well.

If you are using a loose based tin place a piece of foil over the top and make sure it is up to the top on all sides. Then add the base back into the tin.

Place a scoop of crumbs into each tin then using something flat push the crumbs down into the base.

For the cheesecake filling place the cream cheese and sugar into the bowl of your mixer. And mix until it is smooth.

Swap to the whisk attachment and add in the eggs, cream, flour and vanilla. Whisk it on high speed until it is fluffy.

Add in some yellow colouring until you get that emoji yellow colour.

Pipe the mixture into the baking tins. Then tap each one on the bench to smooth out the tops.

Place them all into a large baking dish. Then carefully pour in some boiling water to about half way up the sides.

Bake for around 15 minutes. Keep an eye on them because you don’t want them to brown on top.

Once they are cooked let them cool then remove from the tins as shown in the video. If you are not using loose based tins you may need to place in the freezer for a couple of hours and then tip out.

To make the decorations print out emojis in the size of your desserts. Place a sheet of non-stick baking paper over the top. Pipe the decorations (see video for instructions). Add to the cheesecakes or serve to the table and let your friends make their own emoji.

  1. Hi Ann

    Many thanks for your time

  2. Hi Ann and the HowToCookThat team! Thank you for choosing my entry. I least expect to win since there are many wonderful entries but I am really happy and such blessed to win. 😉 Lovelots, from the Philippines!

  4. Hi Ann I couldn’t hear the videoof the kids could you plz send me the link

  5. I took 2 hours and composed 3 entries (all of which were 25 words or less; 1 limerick, 1 haiku, and another poem. All rhymed, btw.) I checked her Youtube video everyday just in case she released the results early, and created a list in my head of all the things I’d make with the mixer (meringue was one, and tons of cupcakes with buttercream frosting another.). Suffice to say I was disappointed enough to spend the evening with a spoon and a box of chocolate ice cream. It would, however, sooth my bitter heart a little if the winning entries were posted up, so I can concede that mine was not the best. *sigh

    • disappointed
“You took some words right out of my mouth but can you please place in some of that ice cream.” 🙂
I’m quite bummed as well but it doesn’t matter, it was still up to Miss Ann and not to us.
The song video is cute and lovely.
I hope she will edit the word `Philippines
We still love you, Ann. <3

    • I feel for you dissappointed. It is such a shame that only one entry from each area could win, but that is the way it is. There were heaps of fantastic entries and I am sure yours was outstanding.
